LCH/LRHC Achieves Perfect Score

Lindsborg News Record, June 2011

The Lindsborg Community Hospital and Rural Health Clinic scored a perfect review last week during the federally mandated CLIA survey. The surveyor reported zero deficiencies during this biennial on-site survey.

CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment) regulates laboratories performing testing on human specimens and includes laboratory standards for proficiency testing, facility administration, personnel qualifications and quality controls. CLIA applies the standards to all laboratory settings, including commercial, hospital based, and physician office laboratories.

Farah Erickson, MT(ASCP), Director of Laboratory Services for LCH/LRHC, received a verbal commendation from the surveyor on the hospital's extensive quality assurance program, and noted that a deficiency-free hospital survey is rare.
