Physical Therapy

Mark Robertson, DPT, is the Director of Rehabilitation Services for Lindsborg Community Hospital. Physical therapy staff members, Sharon Vajgrt, PT and Emily Burchett, CPTA form the physical therapy team.

Available to inpatients and outpatients, Physical Therapy (PT) is a rehabilitation process to improve movement and function. Mark, Sharon and Emily will work to identify, correct and/or prevent movement dysfunction following disease, injury or surgery.

PT clients of all ages and diagnosis are evaluated and treated with an individualized program. Each client is evaluated and treated with a personalized program designed to achieve maximum function in the most effective, efficient way possible.

Sharon Vajgrt, PT is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and is also certified in SAEBOflex ® ASTYM® technologies The PT departments offers a variety of treatment services including:

  • ASTYM®
  • Neuromuscular re-education following neurological insult (CVA, TBI, MS) Therapeutic exercise for total joint replacement, orthroscopy surgery or ligament repairs.
  • Training for the proper use of assistive devices (walkers, prosthetics, wheelchairs)
  • Instruction for the use of prosthetic devices for ambulation and balance following amputation
  • Joint mobilization, myofacial release, exercise and soft tissue mobilization to restore functional motion
  • Posture and ergonomic evaluation and education for individuals and the workplace
  • Mechanical traction for issues relating to the cervical and lumbar spine
  • SAEBOflex ® upper extremity
  • Modalities (treatments) to reduce pain and improve mobility such as electric stimulation, ultrasound, vasopneumatic pump, iontophoresis, hot/cold packs and paraffin
  • Balance
  • Vertigo treatment with Vestibular Rehabilitaion and Canolith procedures for BPPN (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo):
  • Wound care for whirlpool debridement, Woundvac (Negative Pressure wound therapy), pulsed lavage.
  • Lymphedema therapy. Treatment consists of manual lymphatic drainage massage, light exercise and compression bandaging.
