Occupational therapy (OT) services are available at Lindsborg Community Hospital as part of the rehabilitation department. Occupational therapy enables people of all ages to return to and participate in meaningful daily work and leisure activities.

OT Services Include:

  • Self-care (dressing, grooming, toileting, homemaking)
  • Pain Management
  • Ergonomics & Body Mechanics
  • Flexibility
  • Strengthening
  • Range of Motion
  • Custom Splint Fabrication
  • Endurance Programs
  • Manual Therapy/Massage
  • Hand, Wrist, Elbow Therapy
  • Cumulative Trauma Injuries, including, but not limited to: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, De Quervain's Syndrome, Gamekeeper's Thumb, Guyon's Tunnel Syndrome, Trigger Finger, Tenosynovitis, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, Lateral/Medial Epicondylitis
  • Arthritis
  • Adaptive Equipment Recommendations and Instructions
  • Visual/Perceptual Deficits
  • Upper Extremity & Hand Coordination Dysfunction
  • Hand Therapy
  • Pediatrics
  • Neurological Injuries, including but not limited to: CVA (stroke), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease
  • Home and Safety Assessments and Recommendations
  • Driving Assessment - The Driving Health Inventory (DHI) is a computer based assessment that looks at the prerequisite skills necessary for safe driving. The assessment assists with determining if a person has deficits in one of seven skills needed for safe driving. The occupational therapist utilizes the information from the Driving Health Inventory as well as objective information from other clinical assessments to determine barriers in reaction time, spatial relations, visual scanning, and basic cognitive functions needed for safe driving. The entire driving assessment includes use of the following clinical tools:
    • Motor Free Visual Perceptual Test
    • Traffic Sign Recognition
    • Cognitive Function Examination
    • Assessment of functional strength, mobility,& coordination
    • Completion of a Driving Health Inventory
